THE POKIA / HULGER COPIES
Copies are obviously very flattering but in some cases cause confusion.
HULGER is the new name for pokia.com but the following are all copies: Retrostars, Phobile, Pokiaonline, Pokia.us, Mockia, Funkyphones and now jyphone too (who even have the cheek to copy our Monorex Special Edition P*PHONEs)
(read the comments after this posting. a copy-ist even has the front to use this posting as a free bit of advertsing. isn’t the world tiring sometimes)
Some of these are better than others but none have any relation to HULGER. If you find any other copies please mail me HERE. Thanks, Nicolas

I let this one through the moderators net. it was posted by pokia.us so you might question its’ validity. that said mr pokia.us has been pretty decent so far , although i don’t know if the actual product is good or not. nik - HULGER

How do i know the difference between the original Pokia and Pokia.us?

That’s easy. Pokia.com is the original and now ONLY sells through HULGER.com and Skype.com (in europe for now) and select retailers in 16 countries (see the where to buy link on http://www.hulger.com). Pokia.us, novaphone, pokiaonline, phobile, funkyphones, mockia etc etc are all copies of our idea and we don’t sell through any of their sites or associated stores. I hope that clarifies things.

Despite the obvious branding issues with pokia.us, before their site went down, they were retrofitting phone handsets rather than designing and scratch building original ‘retro’ models. The results were rather pleasing.
Issues of legality resolved, is originality such a sacred calf? I would rather own a Toshiba Gigabeat than a comparable iPod (and do), and a number of my colleagues have similarly selcted models by Creative (questionable ethics of their legal challenge aside).
That said, I will be buying my handset from hulger.com as soon as I can afford it.
